• Matt Logan releases new single ‘October Storm’

I’m happy to share October Storm with you. The deep strings and trumpet solo at the beginning capture the melancholic, autumnal spirit of this song.

  • Matt Logan releases new single ‘Collision Course’

It’s about time for a new song, yes? I present to you Collision Course, a song in which the lyrics and music depict a character’s internal struggle to resist what seems inevitable.

The musical elements mirror the waves of tension and intensity in the story. The instrumentation is a little unique for a rock song, mainly because of the use of the mandolin in the pre-choruses. The organ and keys give “rock festival” vibes, while rich backing vocals add to the drama and emotional impact.

I learned a lot making this one, and some mistakes were made. The beauty of this journey that I’m on is that I learn quite a bit with each song. My production skills, technical skills, and overall process are gradually improving, and I hope that means I get to keep delivering better and better music.

There are so many aspects to this – the arrangement, the individual performances, the editing, the marketing and promotion of the new songs…it’s kind of amazing what all goes into releasing just one piece of art. The hours that go into one stinkin’ song is mind-boggling.

But, it’s worth it. I get to share my art with you and hope that something resonates.

  • Matt Logan releases new single ‘Between the Colors’

I’m excited to share this new song. It may be more abstract than the last one (Howlin’ at the Moon), but it’s a song that has rattled around in my brain for many years. I had to make it.

Bringing it to life with a bunch of talented studio musicians was incredibly fun. You’ll hear a variety of different time interpretations, powerful drums, haunting backing vocals, and a driving outro with an epic guitar solo. Who can name the instrument you hear in the very beginning of the song?

  • Howlin’ at the Moon Live Unplugged

The other day, my buddy Dan came by with his guitar. You can hear him singing on Howlin’ at the Moon in the studio version, and he joined me in my living room on this unplugged version. My other buddy, Pranay, filmed it.
