Howlin’ at the Moon Live Unplugged

There’s something special about stripping a song down to its bare bones—just voices, guitars, and the energy of the moment. That’s exactly what we captured in this live acoustic version of Howlin’ at the Moon.

The other day, my buddy Dan came by with his guitar. You might recognize his voice from the studio version—he sang harmonies on the track, adding that extra depth and soul. This time, we took it back to where so many songs begin: sitting in a living room, playing for the joy of it.

My other buddy, Pranay, brought his camera and helped us turn this impromptu jam into something worth sharing. No fancy production, no overdubs—just a couple of friends playing music the way it was meant to be played. There’s an intimacy to this version that I really love. The lyrics hit differently when there’s nothing but wood, strings, and voices filling the room.

Howlin’ at the Moon is a song about stepping away from the grind, about choosing your own path and celebrating the simple things in life. This acoustic take brings that idea full circle. It’s not about chasing perfection—it’s about the moment, the feel, the connection.

If you’ve ever sat around with friends, passing a guitar back and forth, you know the magic I’m talking about. That’s what we wanted to capture here.

I’d love to hear what you think! Does this version bring out something new for you? Drop a comment on the video or here on the blog and let me know. And if you dig it, share it with someone who’d appreciate a good, honest song played straight from the heart.

Thanks for listening, and keep howlin’!
