Matt Logan releases new single ‘Howlin’ at the Moon’
Howlin’ at the Moon is Out Now!
Today’s the day—Howlin’ at the Moon is officially out in the world! This song has been a long time coming, and I couldn’t be more excited to share it with you. It’s my third single as a solo artist, and it feels like the most ‘me’ song I’ve put out yet.
What’s Howlin’ at the Moon About?
At its core, this song is about breaking free from the grind and embracing life on your own terms. It’s for the people who’d rather measure success by how many good times they’ve had than by the numbers in their bank account.
From the opening line—This old rat don’t wanna race no more—to the final howl, it’s an anthem for slowing down, tuning out the noise, and just enjoying the simple things: coffee in the morning, a drink in the evening, and love in between. It’s about playing music because you love it, not because you’re chasing some unrealistic dream of fame.
Behind the Music
When I wrote this song, I had a clear vision of what I wanted it to sound like—gritty, bluesy, and loose, like something you’d hear in a dimly lit bar where the band plays simply because they love making music. The recording process was all about keeping that raw energy intact, and I think we nailed it.
